Gerald was a proud Windsorite for most of his life. He enjoyed talking about his childhood and what it was like living in the early 20th Century. He recalled happy times spent at his grandparent's farm in Cottam and having to take the train from Windsor to Essex to get there. He bragged about seeing the last girder laid in the Ambassador Bridge, and seeing the Windsor/ Detroit tunnel float down river, sink to the bottom, and put into place.
Gerald was a Stationary Engineer and Entrepreneur. He served his country in the Royal Canadian Air Force stationed in Bagotville, Quebec and St.John's Newfoundland and received the Maple Leaf Cross General Service Medal. The family would like to thank Eileen's nieces Barbara Stanley and Fran McKim and their families for welcoming "Uncle Gerry" into their family when he and Eileen were married in 1978. The family would also like to thank the Country Village staff for their wonderful, loving care and for making him part of their family during his five years with them which also included Gerald's family and extended family.
